Micrometals Arnold Powder Cores

Following Micrometals acquisition of  the Arnold powder core business in January 2010. Micrometals is now able to offer the widest selection of powder cores in the industry.

Power Magnetics has had a long association with Micrometals Inc. and as well as continuing in our role of authorised stockist and distributor for the Micrometals range of Iron Powder cores, as we have done for over 25 years, we now also act as an authorised distributor and stockist for the Micrometals-Arnold range of Alloy powder cores. These include Molypermalloy (MPP), Super MSS, Hi-Flux and Iron Silicon (Fe-Si).

You will find cross-referencing aids on our website that allow you to identify the Micrometals Arnold equivalent of most Magnetics Inc and Chang Sung Corp (CSC) powder cores. There is also information on the different types of powder core and guidance on typical applications.

If you visit the PDF downloads section of our website, you will find detailed data on the different materials and technical articles relating to powder cores.

   Tex-FS / Tex-BS Triple Insulated Wire

Furukawa have responded to customer feedback and have brought out new improved versions of their Tex-B (thermal class B) and Tex-F (thermal class F) wire. Specifically the insulation characteristics have been altered to improve solderability and reduce the issues with soldering melt-back associated with the original Tex-B wire.

Tex FS offers improved insulation characteristics and solderability over Tex-F. Tex-FS has been approved by UL and VDE for IEC 60601-1 (Medical Electrical Equipment). Working voltage is 250V rms.

Both Tex-F and Tex-B wire will remain available for existing customers for the time being although it is understood that in time they will be phased out.

Customers can purchase from as little as 50 metres of wire and free samples are available on request.
